9 Thoughts That Can Change Your Marriage

Kate says,

What makes a marriage book different?  What makes it stand out from the rest? What makes you want to pick it up and delve in? For me it is vulnerability and transparency. Our friend and fellow blogger, Sheila Gregoire of To Love, Honor and Vacuum has done an amazing job again with her new book 9 Thoughts That Can Change Your Marriage.

The thing that I admire about Sheila is that each chapter involves personal stories from her marriage. She is real and shares what God has shown her. I don’t know about you, but I always relate better when someone makes their point applicable.  sheilas new book

The other aspect of this book that I was excited to see was her “Pat Answers” in each section. We as Christians can hit people hard in their marriage with the “perfect” answer. While many of these answers are truth, it doesn’t mean life and marriage are that easy. Throwing the God card at people is simply not helpful.

Sheila highlights 9 thoughts that can change your marriage and the opposite of those thoughts that can derail your marriage. This is a fantastic list of things that we hear and see on a daily basis as we interact with couples. If you have read many of our posts you will know that they are all things we have worked through as well. Bringing these issues into the light is such a good thing. Thank you Sheila for continuing to do just that. Marriages are changing because of it.  I hope you will get a copy of Sheila’s book and glean from her.

My favorite quote:

“Then Keith said something really important: ‘I just need to know that us matters more than you.’ He wasn’t saying that my feelings didn’t matter; he wasn’t even saying that his feelings mattered more than mine. He was reminding me that we are on the same side, and that I should fight for that unity, even when my feelings were hurt.”  (Pg. 12)

That my friends is good stuff!  9 Thoughts That Can Change Your Marriage.

Have you read Sheila’s new book yet. If so leave a comment and let us know what you thought.
