The Most Misused Bible Verse

You might be walking through some hard times right now. Your marriage might be struggling or maybe you are feeling lost in your work, family, or health.

If you start to share your frustrations with those around you I guarantee that someone will tell you “God doesn’t give you more than you can handle,” which is usually taken from 1 Corinthians 10:13.  The-Most-Misused-Bible-Verse-OFM

We want to believe that God will make sure that life will never be too hard for us. Sometimes those who have been through something really hard will be told this as a badge of honor, “you must be really strong to be able to go through something like that.”

The Bad News

The Bible never says that life won’t get hard. In fact it pretty much promises the opposite! In John 16:33 Jesus says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
